A decade ago when my husband and I bought our home here in the Miller Creek School District, we knew we not only found our home but our community.

After the birth of our first daughter and stepping back from my job in BioTech/Pharma, I knew I wanted and needed to be involved in our community. I was raised with the belief that to be truly part of a community you worked to help it thrive. So, I dove right in hoping to help make our community thrive.

  • Serving on the Marinwood Community Service District Parks and Recreation Commission (April 2014 to December 2018).

  • 2018, ran for office to serve my fellow Marinwood residents on the Marinwood Board of Directors. Over the past 6 years (2 terms) it has been my pleasure to serve on the Marinwood Board of Directors.

    • Working with the District Manager, and the other elected Board members we have accomplished many things together including

      • making the district more financially stable,

      • created and funded a Reserves Fund

      • started to address the OPEB and CAL PERS liabilities.

As my girls have grown and started in our school system, I stepped up as parent in the Miller Creek School District.

  • First in as a parent volunteer in the classroom then as Lucas Valley Elementary’s HSC Vice President during the 2018/2019 school year.

  • From 2019-2021 I continued as President bringing the Lucas Valley Elementary community together after the school and district name change. Then reworking events during the first months of Covid as well as the following school year.

Since stepping down from the HSC I have continued to volunteer in both of my daughters’ classrooms

  • Events/field trips/classroom math/reading centers,

  • Helping with the school garden and environmental education

  • As well as helping organize cultural learning events and lessons.

Off campus, during swim season you will see me running the computer desk at the Marinwood pool for the WaterDevils swim team.

Now that I have a child at Miller Creek Middle School, I have stepped up to help reestablish the Birthday Book Club to help bring more funds to buy new books for the school library.

I earned my Bachelors of Science in Cellular Molecular and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan, followed by an MBA at Drexel University. I have worked in both academic and industry settings in a variety of capacities including research, sales, and marketing.
